Not all Chinese scientists question India’s Chandrayaan-3

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) achieved a significant milestone with the Chandrayaan-3 mission, successfully landing near the lunar south pole.

Some Chinese scientists and experts have reacted to the Chandrayaan-3 mission, with differing opinions on its success.

Chinese scientist Ouyang Ziyuan, known as the father of China's lunar exploration program, questioned the achievements of Chandrayaan-3.

Ziyuan argued that the Chandrayaan-3 landing site is not close to the lunar south pole, disputing claims to the contrary.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission landed at 69.37 degrees south latitude and 32.35 degrees east longitude, while the lunar south pole is typically defined at a higher latitude of around 89.45 degrees.

Despite Ziyuan's skepticism, the Chinese Communist Party-owned Global Times reported on Chandrayaan-3's success with enthusiasm.

Many Chinese experts and scientists praised India's feat and highlighted the growing significance of developing countries in space exploration.

Some experts called for India and China to set aside geopolitical rivalries and collaborate in space endeavors, emphasizing the global nature of scientific progress.
