Daniel Jones says Giants must own humiliating lo

The New York Giants were shut out by the Dallas Cowboys, 40-0, on Sunday night in their most lopsided opening-week loss in franchise history.

It was also the first time they were shut out by Dallas since 1996 — the Dave Brown era.

For a team that truly believed it had closed the talent gap in the NFC East, it was a humiliating and humbling showing.

“We’ve got to own it. Own what happened out there,” Jones told reporters after the game.

“We didn’t play well enough. Didn’t execute well enough, didn’t give ourselves a chance to win the game and we got to own that, and then we got to attack the process this week of correcting .

It’s also one they must own, says quarterback Daniel Jones.

The Week 1 loss was a catastrophic failure from top to bottom. Everyone who stepped onto the field played worse than their opposing counterpart, and everything that could go wrong did go wrong.

Veteran cornerback Adoree’ Jackson called the loss “embarrassing,” which was a sentiment felt throughout the locker room.
