– The boy from Kratie province became ill after consuming poultry with his family, exhibiting symptoms like fever, coughing, and breathing difficulties before passing away.

– Tests confirmed that the boy was infected with the highly pathogenic H5N1 strain of the virus.

– Health officials are investigating the source of the virus and conducting searches for additional cases.

– The Cambodian health ministry issued a reminder for people to remain vigilant about bird flu due to the ongoing threat posed by H5N1.

– Last year, three individuals, including a two-year-old girl, died from bird flu in Cambodia.

– Since late 2021, Europe has been facing its worst-ever outbreak of bird flu, with severe outbreaks also reported in North and South America.
