Americans to Eat 1.45 Billion Chicken Wings for the Big Game –

Americans will consume 1.45 billion chicken wings during the Big Game, making it the second-largest eating day after Thanksgiving.

The National Chicken Council predicts this consumption surge, emphasizing the popularity of wings during football events.

Visualizing the enormity of 1.45 billion wings, it's enough for every American to eat four wings each.

If Kansas City Coach Andy Reid ate 50 wings daily, it would take him over 79,000 years to finish 1.45 billion wings.

– Alternatively, these wings could fill 693 per seat in all 30 NFL stadiums or stretch 1/3 of the way to the moon if laid end-to-end.

In terms of time, 1.45 billion wings represent 46 years into the future, illustrating their vast quantity.

Despite a flat projection compared to 2023, higher demand due to reduced chicken production has raised wholesale prices.

– Fresh wing prices have decreased by 5%, while frozen wing prices have dropped by 11% from January 2023, according to Circana data.
