Google is set to kill this Gmail feature

Google+: The feature being discontinued is the integration of Google+ into Gmail.

Social Network Integration: Google+ was once an attempt by Google to create a social network to rival Facebook. It was integrated into various Google services, including Gmail.

Circles and Contacts: With Google+, Gmail users were able to organize their contacts into Circles, making it easier to share content with specific groups.

Gmail's People Widget: Google+ integration included the "People Widget" in Gmail, which displayed recent Google+ posts and interactions of email contacts.

Commenting and Sharing: Users could comment on and share emails with their Google+ connections directly from Gmail.

Photo Sharing: Google+ allowed for automatic photo sharing of images sent via Gmail to a connected Google+ account.

Shared Documents: Google+ integration also made it possible to share Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides directly through Gmail.

Hangouts Integration: Google Hangouts was integrated with Google+ and Gmail, enabling chat and video calls with contacts.
